The William Kentridge Why Should I Hesitate Collectible Box Set includes two hardcover volumes, created on the ocassion of Kentridge’s large-scale retrospective exhibitions at the Norval Foundation and Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) in 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa. The two-volume overview covers 40 years of Kentridge’s internationally acclaimed production in drawing, stop-frame animation, video, prints, sculpture, tapestry and large-scale installation.

Included with the two volumes is a striking editioned print, made using lapis lazuli-based pigment, featuring text overlaid onto unique found book pages from the artist’s library. The prints refer back to Kentridge’s 2012 Rubric series of prints which used the same intense colour, the result of Kentridge receiving a gift of the precious pigment from Afghanistan. Each print has a the official red William Kentridge stamp in the bottom right corner and will be framed in a beautiful archival wooden frame.
