Nthabiseng Kekana (b.1999) was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kekana’s artistic journey began as a child with drawing, later leading her to the National school of the Arts, where she majored in Three-Dimensional Design. After her graduation, Kekana initially chose to pursue fashion, but ended up studying for a higher certificate, pursuing a degree in Digital Media in Design (Multimedia) from the University of Johannesburg.
Kekana’s work explores femininity and spirituality, and it is rooted in a profound connection to her heritage. Her exploration is guided by her emotions and spirituality, leading her to examine otherworldly ideas. She works in a range of mediums, including oil, charcoal, pastels and natural fibres, to express the fluidity of creation.
